We loved being walking distance to the amenities of Winthrop and really appreciated Deneen communicating with us whenever we had something come up, even dropping off extra blankets one evening :) We would definitely stay here again! We loved the open concept; for four adults and two toddlers, it was perfect. Thank you for making our stay in Winthrop comfortable and memorable.

We loved our stay here! The space is beautiful, the hosts provided thoughtful touches like coffee and snacks, the beds were comfortable and you can easily walk anywhere in Winthrop. We could hear footsteps and music upstairs during the day which didn’t bother us at all, just an FYI. Extra points for providing coffee, oatmeal and other snacks - we woke up to wet snow and didn’t feel like venturing out and were able to have a nice morning without leaving the apartment. We would love to stay here again!

Everything is great about Tom’s place. The location is just perfect: just around the corner from the heart of Winthrop, walking distance to restaurants/bars. It’s clean and light-filled, and spacious. Deneen is very responsive and available if needed. We loved: the cute propane gas heater in the corner that made chilly nights so cozy, the ability to pair up with Apple TV and play music, the wonderfully comfortable bed in the back bedroom, the strong hot spray of the shower that felt amazing after a long hike. Highly recommended!

Trail magic is such an amazing place to stay. Just a short walk to all the cute shops in Winthrop and a short drive to amazing viewpoints and great hikes. After a long day of exploring and adventure it was great to come back to a place that just felt like home. We will be back for future trips!

Super close to town - very walkable which was great. Super clean as well and had everything we needed. We had a group of 6, in town for a wedding, so used the pullout couch and air mattress. Took us a while to find the sheets and blankets, but eventually did and boys were comfortable. Communication was great! Check out was super simple which is very appreciated! Thanks!

Fantastic location! If you are looking to be close to the Main Street in Winthrop this is your place, literally round the corner from the Main Street. We ditched our car and walked all around the town several times. Very nice place, spacious and pleasing. A few things of note (I am picky) there is no A/C except in one bedroom, so the house was really warm!! We had a hard time sleeping at night, as the fans were not all that great. The house has a few things that cld be replaced, like pots and pans ( scratched and tarnished) and if you are picky then this house is not spotless, however this was not a deterrent for us. I would say we were very comfortable staying here.. given the space and location. We did not meet the host, but she was gracious in letting us check in early. A couple of times we heard footsteps upstairs but no other noise, host was very quiet and it did not bother us at all. I Would definitely recommend Tom’s place. Stay here!

Deneen and Tom showed us warm hospitality, were responsive and effective communicators, going beyond to make our stay with kids easier. The house is perfectly located. AC unit in bedroom with king-sized bed was a bonus. The queen-sized bed has a very firm mattress and squeaky box spring which may be uncomfortable for some. As a fairly recently remodeled house, it is still missing some finishes and details (e.g. rod in closet, toilet paper holder) but it is spacious, bright, and comfortable. Loved the keyless entry.

Bright, clean, stylish, comfortable place to stay. Lots of thoughtful touches throughout the house! Loved being able to do laundry here after getting our clothes all dusty from hiking. Super convenient location to walk into town. A couple suggestions to make the place even better: Put a small shelf in the bathroom, since there’s currently no counter space for one’s dopp kit. Also, shades on the kitchen windows would be helpful because they face east, and so the sun is right in your eyes anytime you’re in the kitchen in the morning. Those two small items notwithstanding, we had a great time here and look forward to staying here again next time we visit North Cascade National Park.

Location! Location! Location! There is no better spot if you want to be close to the town of Winthrop. The space is open and nicely set-up. We were welcomed by a summer rain and a stunning rainbow. The host was great with suggestions for places to eat and stop along our journey. Would definitely stay here again.

This home served as the perfect base for our hiking trip in the Northern Cascades. The rooms were very spacious and provided all of the amenities we could have wanted. It was a very short walk to the charming town of Winthrop, with coffee, restaurants and shops only minutes away. Parking was simple and the check-in/check-out process was very smooth. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return again on our next visit!

A great place for a family to call home whilst exploring Winthrop and North Cascades NP. The house is fully stocked with everything a family generally needs. We especially enjoyed making use out of the board games as we sat by the giant living room windows, watching deer wander down the street and the sun set.

Great place to stay if you want to enjoy hiking in the Methow Valley. The house is clean and comfortable and close to the action. The owner provides the necessities and offers little extras like snacks to take with you when you hike and even stamped postcards for you to send to those not lucky enough to visit this gorgeous part of the country. We highly recommend this rental!

I was amazed by the outstanding location and huge front porch with a view of the mountains! I drank my coffee out there each morning and it was lovely!! Downtown Winthrop is just down the hill 1block away. We loved the bookstore and ice cream shops best! The Apple TV was super cool, too. And the board game selection! We played Guesstures and had a ball!

Just as described - a beautifully renovated, light and airy space within 3 minutes walking distance to the main strip downtown Winthrop! It was a very large space for just four of us but that made it very comfortable and kind of like home away from home! We loved that it had a full kitchen. While our hosts were not physically there at the time, there was a folder with things to do, eat and see around the area, which came in very handy.

We stayed here with our 3 year and this was the perfect home base for exploring the area and all the hikes it has to offer and grabbing a bite to eat just down the street. This house is the perfect jumping off point for exploring Winthrop. We did some sledding, went skiing and window shopping all without moving our truck. The house was a peaceful place to watch the snow fall and play games in the evening. We had a great stay.

This is your Methow Valley home away from home! It was the perfect size and location for our busy family with little kids. My kids loved playing in the snow covered yard, especially with the cats! The kitchen was well equipped, beds were cozy, and everything was clean and orderly. My favorite place to be was right next to the fireplace looking out the windows at the gorgeous hills. This is a great spot! So close to Winthrop. We had a wonderful time. The Castle Retreat was a cozy, warm and relaxing place to stay. It was bigger than I thought it would be. My husband and I stayed and could easily have shared it with another couple. Cute cats on the property too! I would defiantly recommend it. Don't miss the Copper Glance, a great bar with lots of locals.

This clean, renovated country farmhouse was a perfect place. My mom, my son & I loved the space. We especially loved the cozy fireplace and comfortable bed linens. The kitchen was fully equipped. Awesome location, a block away from the main Street of Winthrop! We were greeted with a chocolate bar and cold cans of sparkling water in the fridge! Ample parking, lots of room, fully equipped with everything you need, and super fluffy bathroom towels. Check in and check out was so easy, and Tom & Deneen were gracious hosts (they even let us check out an hr late so that we didn't have to rush after the half marathon!)! who gave us lots of local tips.

Recommended. Tom's place is a really nice get-a-way for families and travelers finding themselves over for a visit in Winthrop. A stroll from the house gets you onto the boardwalk of downtown where you will find a Northwest bounty: quality eateries, bakeries, coffee shops, Old Schoolhouse Brewery, (2 taprooms, a winery), parks, river access, and often world class musical entertainment. Winthrop host festivals and gatherings almost every week of the year; seemingly, there is always something going on. 'Trail Magic' is a perfect spot from which to enjoy it! We enjoyed our stay here in the heart of Winthrop. It was walking distance to downtown where there were restaurants and shops. The town's water main broke, and we were without water for an afternoon, but Deneen and Steve were responsive to our needs. I would recommend this place as a good stopping off place on the Cascade Loop.

You can't beat the location of the Farmhouse—located a block away from downtown Winthrop and so very close to all the outdoorsy fun stuff you travelled to the Methow Valley for. It was roomy, relaxing, with lots of light and all the amenities we could ever want (except perhaps for a hot tub after a long day of skiing!). It was home away from home, with a lovely, well-appointed kitchen and comfortable, attractive furnishings. Take note of the expertly crafted finishing work, executed with obvious love and attention to detail. We were impressed!

The farmhouse was perfect for a winter gettaway! Highly recommend. Entry was seamless, and communication terrific throughout. The keycode entry made it so easy to coordinate, and the place itself was gorgeous, clean, and easy to use. The layout is ideal for a vacation - plenty of spots for quiet moments to read a book or take a nap, and a big gathering space. The kitchen is much larger than it looks in the photos, and table expands - which was great, and allowed us to host aunties, nieces, nephews for a holiday meal. We loved the visit from start to finish, and would love to come back again.

Doing field work research can be strenuous but ever since we have found Tom's place, field work has been 100x more pleasurable, because we can cook our own food in a very modern kitchen and the town is just a block away. I must say I felt very comfortable staying here. The house was extremely clean and well organized and if you want to just sit outside, the backyard/front yard is really relaxing. This is my second time staying at Tom's place and I have yet to be disappointed :D. Highly recommend Tom's place for your stay in Winthrop! Trust me, you'll love it!

This is a well-maintained beautiful and spacious home. We stayed in it for three nights and really enjoyed our relaxing time. We drove from Omak to Winthrop in the nights and arrived near midnight every night, it was so relaxing after a long day outdoor tour. Deneen was very responsive during our stay. She started texting me the day before our arrival and gave us clear instructions in detail. With Deneen's text message, we entered the house with no problem when we arrived about midnight the first day. The house was neat and clean, very comfy and homey. Will certainly come back and recommend to others.

Being a graduate student, it is always a little difficult to find a place to stay, especially a place near our sampling sites and in town, but Toms place is not only a gorgeous house, but it is extremely clean and right in the center of town. Tom's place was awesome! He responded within minutes which was great especially since I booked so last minute. Deneen and Steve were super nice too and gave great hiking tips!! We did a lot of hiking in the North Cascades park and Winthrop was the perfect distance (Blue Lake Trail, Cutthroat Trail and Maple Loop Pass.) The town is just big enough to have what you need: groceries, a couple restaurants, some shops, and some nice trails. We also walked from the house to the stores so it's nice that everything was super close. The house was beautiful inside and everything was brand new so it felt very fancy with an at home feel. It was nice to have such a lot of space to relax at the end of the day. That was probably my favorite part because all the rooms were so big that it felt very roomy not like most other rented places. Tom's house was very clean too! I definitely want to come back to Winthrop again soon.

My husband and I just spend 4 nights in this cosy house in the wonderful town of Winthrop. We loved coming back from a great day of skiing to the comfy couches, great fireplace and all the excellent amenities. The house is very spacious and would be perfect for two couples. Everything you need to cook your own meals is provided but there are also great little restaurants and the excellent Old Schoolhouse Brewery just a couple minutes walk away. We can't wait to come back in the summer and explore the local hiking trails. We'd highly recommend this place for anyone wishing to visit this area.

The home is quite spacious. The location just a 5 minute walk from the Main Street is excellent. Although we did not use it, the kitchen facilities are spacious. The two bedrooms and spaciousness would allow two couples to enjoy the home quite well- a somewhat unique element of an air bnb. It was an excellent place from which to explore Winthrop and the Methow Valley - literally a 2 minute walk from the Shafer museum and ten minute drive to the smokejumpers base. Also many excellent walks/hikes in the area.

It was the perfect place for us to stay. Close to all the activities we wanted to take part in. Loved the Merc Theatre, Chamber Music Festival, Shafer Museum, tubing down the river. Deneen was very attentive to all our requests and very helpful with providing information before and during our stay. Accommodations were clean and comfortable and within walking distance to the main street. Also very close (a half hour drive) to amazing hiking trails. Thank you to Deneen and Steve for making our stay wonderful.
